Secondary School

The GCSE is the national testing program for Secondary Schools included in the National Curriculum of England and Wales, normally occurring at the end of Year 11 (Key Stage 4). GCSE French involves the study of numerous topics within three themes: 1. Identity and Culture 2. Local, national, international, and global areas of interest, and 3. Current and future study and employment. Although differences and variations may exist, learning in each of these themes may involve listening, understanding and responding, using language in a range of contexts, understand the meaning of texts, recognising and responding to questions, recognising information, themes and ideas, speaking, communicating and interacting, reading understanding and responding to written language, communicating in writing, effectively using grammar and vocabulary. It is advised that GCSE French should only be taught by teachers experienced in the GCSE program.
