Greek Literature

Secondary School

Greek literature as a subject in Secondary School is ideally taught to students in senior levels and grades.  There are three commonly recognised periods in Greek literature: Archaic, Classical, and Hellenistic. Each period carried with it a distinct mixture of myth, folklore and history. The subject may consider the contributions made by Homer, the poet Hesiod, Ephorus, Herodotus the historian and other ancient philosophers who some would argue were responsible for giving birth and meaning to modern day literature.
