Secondary School
Secondary School Science may involve students learning about the scientific method, making a hypothesis, experimental design, and dependent and independent variables. Studies may involve the characteristics of living things, cell biology, cell theory, single celled and multicellular organisms, organ systems and their functions, and classification. This subject may also involve geology, history of the Earth, types of rocks, the rock cycle, particles and waves, ecosystems, adaptations, food chains and food webs, states of matter, particle theory, biosphere, energy flow, inter-dependence, photosynthesis, consumers, producers, and decomposers. Secondary School Science may also include electricity, circuits, Ohm’s law, the periodic table, chemical reactions and equations, enthalpy, evolution, human evolution, natural selection, palaeontology, genetics, heredity, pedigrees, DNA structure and function, RNA and protein synthesis.
