ORSOT for Secondary School Students

Welcome:

ORSOT  welcomes and caters for the learning needs of Secondary School students in the Central West region of NSW through online tuition.  Current subjects  are in Math and the Sciences, but we anticipate expanding into all KLA's by the end of year if there is sufficient need.

Students may be at home, or at another suitable venue, and receive tuition via their computer from a qualified teacher in their area of need in Math or Science through a live stream broadcast or a webinar.

Equipment Requirements:

At a minimum students will need access to Wi-Fi, and a computer with a build in audio and webcam. Most modern computers already have these features.
To improve the quality of your online lesson you could even invest in headset with speaker phone, and a webcam. These devices plug directly into your computer.

Online Learning and Tuition:

At ORSOT, online tuition may involve anything from dealing with the principles and concepts in a topic, exam preparation through the revision and understanding of difficult topics, to help with homework and assignments. Learning is not just through online lessons, but through ongoing formative feedback where your tutor is able to make an ongoing  assessment of your degree of understanding of concepts covered in a topic.

During the course of your tuition, your teacher is able to upload many learning materials, to assess your improvement, and to help you achieve your potential. You can access these materials at any time, simply by logging into your account, clicking on your subject, and then entering the subject's "Course Curriculum" page. Students can complete online assignments, tests, upload and download set-work, ask questions, and even learn through recorded webinars and podcasts when not live online.

ORSOT aims to cover the learning needs of secondary school students in the central west region of NSW, including those involved in home-schooling. Students may communicate with their teacher through their subject's "discussion feed" community if they have specific tuition needs or questions in that subject. On the completion of a lesson, period of instruction or course, you can rate your teacher out of 5 stars, and provide feedback on the effectiveness of your received instruction.

Students with special tuition needs can register and enrol with ORSOT by clicking on the "Student Help Desk' link in the Teachme2online menu at the top of this page, and completing their details. We plan to run classes on Saturday and Sunday from 3-4 pm to cater for these students. The same tuition fee applies as for the week days classes. Need more information?  Communicating your tuition needs- Step 2

Not just the subject or topic, but what you do not understand including the content covered in class, and the basic principles and concepts that you may have misunderstand, misinterpreted or simply missed because you may have been absent from school at the time, or were unable to focus on during class time at school. Completing step 2 as accurately as you can gives us at ORSOT a huge opportunity to put you back on track and achieve your personal best in the subject that has been causing you hardship.
